Scott’s Family Tree
Scott’s Dad, Ray, was born and raised in the eastern Oregon town of Baker. His mother, Donna, was born and raised in the Black Hills of South Dakota (Lead, Deadwood, and Spearfish). Ray and Donna met in the Tri Cities, Washington, area (Pasco) where Ray was an electrician and Donna a schoolteacher. They married in 1950 and have been constant companions ever since.
Here are a few pictures from the good old days, which, by the way, got better when they had their one and only baby boy, a stunning little guy named Scott.
Ah, the child that brought joy, happiness and meaning to Ray and Donna’s lives, little Scotty in the arms of his beloved Dad and, pictured below, in May 1959 at his very first television appearance on Boise’s KTVB, Romper Room program with Miss Mary.
Laurie, a native of Lewistown, Montana, met Scott while ballooning. Scott married Laurie in 1995. The image you see above was taken in 2000. As viewers, we learn at least two things from the photo: 1) Laurie’s necklace really is the worlds smartest “Anniversary Gift” (seen here with five stones) and, 2) apparently Scott never has had any hair …
While Scott never claimed to have “swept” Laurie off her feet, flying was common for the couple and their early life together was often a gravity challenged adventure of one kind or another … this image was captured in 1998 at the 8th Boise River Festival Rally. The inflation was actually in a small courtyard at the Double Tree (now Riverside) Hotel.
This is Scott & Laurie together at their Boise home in October of 2010.
Scott and Laurie found each other late in life and had already established families with other spouses. Scott had two daughters, Shauna and Lesley, while Laurie had four children: three girls, Heather, Corrine, Sarah and a boy, William. Shauna, Lesley and Heather all live in Boise and have active relationships with Scott and Laurie.

William lives in Southern California and works full time for Disneyland while juggling the responsibilities of college.
Laurie and I aren’t so certain any longer that we weren’t placed on the planet to be Grandparents … We’re lucky enough to get to spend at least three days a week, some weeks more, with Rocco, Spencer, Lilly and Emily … (and) Alex drops in every once in a while.
Here are some of our favorite “Grand Kid” moments, captured in time :
